Favius Arch Chair
ARCH CHAIR is Martin Hirth’s delicate idea of a leather armchair.
Its archetypal appearance is formed by the puristic lines of its structure and its taut leather surface. Due to the shape of the metal frame the chair’s flexing effect offers high comfort.
Each piece of natural leather has its distinct character and is soak dyed with its edges left raw. The slender bows and the round base are made from matt powder-coated steel and can rotated in relation to each other.
ARCH CHAIR is versatile, invites to linger over a book or to dream and will soon become your favourite place. The seat and back of the chair are made from one continuous piece of vegetable tanned cowhide.
The seat’s special suspension offers different seating positions and adapts to the individual body. The 3 mm thick core leather is folded back at the arm- and backrest and sewn together in the colour of the leather.
Martin Hirth was born in Horb in the Black Forest and studied product design at Academy of Art and Design in Offenbach/Main.
As an undergraduate student he started his own business and worked at the same time, from 2011 to 2014, as an assistant for Sebastian Herkner.
Since he opened his own design studio in 2013, Martin Hirth has been creating products for international brands. They have been on display at exhibitions in Milan, Paris, and Cologne and received many awards. What makes them stand out is their formal ease and their stern concept. They are charming and, last but not least, sustainable – both visually and materially.

Leather is a natural material characterized by its unique surface structure. It quickly adjusts to body temperature and is soft and comfortable. Natural makings of the hide structure, grain variations, scars and insect-bites as well as differing gloss and colour make each piece of furniture unique and authentic. With proper care leather develops a beautiful patina over the course of time.
- Bend leather: With utmost care selected vegetable tanned cowhide with a thickness of 3,0 – 3,4 mm (approx. ⅛ inch).

CARE AND CLEANING OF LEATHER
For regular cleaning rub your leather furniture with a dry soft cloth. Superficial stains can be removed with a slightly moist cloth. The leather should be subsequently dried with another dry cloth. Avoid soaking or strong rubbing on one spot since this will damage the surface. It is recommended to treat the complete surface when removing stains. Spilled liquids should be mopped up immediately with a dry cloth to avoid efflorescence. Optimal protection provides Lanja leather lotion manufactured by Livos. Never apply aggressive agents like stain-remover, shoe-polish or other cleaning agents and under no circumstances apply abrasive sponges. As a matter of principle we recommend to treat your leather furniture twice a year with a leather lotion, ideally before and after the heating period. This will ensure that the leather remains soft and supple and is kept water and grease-proof
POWER COATED METAL
Colour pigments are baked into the powder-coated surface at a high temperature, so that the products are especially resistant and easy to maintain
CARE OF POWER COATED METAL
Clean the powder-coated surfaces regularly with soft cloth moistened with clear water and rub them dry with another soft cloth afterwards. If necessary remove any tenacious dirt, e.g. grease marks with mild soap solution or standard solvent-free windowcleaner. If stains or steaks appear, use only cleaning additives in water. Never use detergents containing solvents, scouring agents or abrasive sponges as these will attack the powder-coated surfaces. Micro-fibre cloths are not suitable either.
