Louispoulsen Flindt Garden Bollard
FLINDT GARDEN BOLLARD
The light source rests at the top inside the asymmetric carving on the side of the bollard, where the gradient serves as a reflector that softens the light and forms a pleasant organic shape on the ground below.
The adapter is positioned externally from the fixture and can run up to six bollards. Maximum distance to last bollard is 30m. Length of enclosed cables: 5m.
Spike: Uses standard cables and connectors which are supplied. Plug and play. Anchor/Base: Use installation cable for legal fixed installation. Adapter required installation by certified electrician.

DESIGNER
CHRISTIAN FLINDT
Christian Flindt (1972-) graduated with an MAA and MDD from Aarhus School of Architecture in 2002. He then started his own design company in 2003.
Here, he placed high emphasis on communication between people, and his focus on this area finds expression in his approach to re-evaluating furniture. He wants his furniture to inspire people to make new connections.
Christian Flindt’s fresh and daring designs in conventional constructions prove that he is a designer with the courage to experiment. He develops innovative furniture and through his work with LED design, for example, he succeeds in blending disparate fields such as lighting and furniture design.
Christian Flindt began working with Louis Poulsen in 2006, since when he has developed the Flindt Bollard, the LP Xperi, the LP Grand, and the Flindt Wall. The latter won the Danish Design Award in 2019.
Christian Flindt is also known for his sculptural and rightfully praised chairs: Orchid, Ripple Chair and Light Lounger.
He has held exhibitions and participated in trade fairs all over the world, and has been awarded a string of prizes including: the Bo Bedre Design Award 2005 and the Bolig Magasinet Design Award for the Flindt range he created for Louis Poulsen, the States Art Foundation Kunstfonds three year workgrant in 2012, the Knud V. Engelhardts Memorial scholarship in 2013, the ELFORSK Price in 2014 by the Danish Department of Energy and Electricity with "Flindt Bollard" for Louis Poulsen, and in 2015 the Kold Christensens honorary scholarship.
THE STORY BEHIND THE PRODUCT
The Flindt Garden bollard is the latest addition to the Flindt family, developed by award winning Danish designer and architect Christian Flindt in collaboration with Louis Poulsen.
The Flindt Garden bollard is part of Louis Poulsen’s flexible garden collection offering instant outdoor illumination in outdoor living spaces such as private parks, courtyards and gardens without compromising the quality of light or the design. The idea behind the sculptural design, however, was born in 2011, when a more refined type of bollard was desired to illuminate a park next to an exhibition at the Danish art hall Kunsthal Brænderigården in Jutland, today known as Viborg Kunsthal.
The fixture was so well received that Louis Poulsen decided to develop it further, together with Christian Flindt. The bollard was optimised in terms of material quality, light distribution and efficiency and was introduced as the Flindt Bollard at the Light + Building trade fair in Frankfurt in 2014.
The simple aesthetics of the resilient bollard, together with the functional and pleasant illumination, have made the Flindt Bollard a convincing choice - elegantly complementing gardens, urban parks, rooftops, and other outdoor living spaces during the day as well as making them more accessible and safe at night.
In 2021, Louis Poulsen introduces the downscaled Flindt Garden bollard, perfected for easy on the spot installation to improve the quality of light and the design immensely in commercial and residential outdoor spaces. The Flindt Garden bollard can be extended with up to six bollards, each placed as far apart as five metres, and truly stands out in repetitive installations. The flexible and minimalist bollard is just as beautifully suitable in a natural setting as it is in an urban garden environment.
