Timeless in its expression and execution, the Tearoom Collection is well-suited to both period and contemporary environments. Like the Tearoom Club Chair, the Tearoom Lounge Chair and Tearoom Sofa radiate elegant yet strict femininity.
Their embracing form, while alluring, stops short of being overly casual. As such, the furniture maintains a clear visual connection to the sculptural 1904 Willow Chair that originally sparked the designer’s imagination The Tearoom Lounge Chair and Tearoom Sofa join the Tearoom Club Chair to complete the leisure experience in a multitude of settings, from exclusive hotels, clubs and lounges to private homes.
Pairing the luxurious feel of full upholstery with a clean silhouette rooted in geometric forms, the Tearoom Collection is as appealing to the touch as it is easy on the eyes.
While creating the clean silhouette, Ross took exceptional care to imbue every inch with mood-lifting comfort. Every design element curves gently to ensure that the furniture’s contours complement our own. Beneath the upholstery, a wood and foam construction creates the ideal pairing of sturdiness and lush comfort.

Although he himself felt like an artisan – and he had no academic approach to furniture design – there is something poetic and artistic about his designs.
The soft lines. The visual lightness. The graphic purity. The free, artistic expression. He was a purist. A man of detail. At first glance, his furniture may seem simple, but at closer inspection it is full of detail. It is inventive and borders on engineering.
He drew, sculpted, made prototypes, was involved in production and participated in the entire process down to every test and launch. He was a creative designer, maybe one of the greatest designers in the golden age of Danish design. He took an innovative approach. Not just to furniture, but to ways of thinking about furniture.
First and foremost, he had an exceptional understanding of materials and an eye for the potential of the wood and the quality of the raw materials he used. He often worked in different types of wood – mainly teak and palisander in combination with real leather.
To Kofod-Larsen, the most important thing was that the furniture should feel good. To the touch and when sitting in it. With all his chairs, The Penguin, The Seal and the Elizabeth Lounge Chair, his focus was on the person who was going to be sitting in them.
COLIN KING
Professionally trained as a dancer, Colin King found himself at the intersection between a dancer’s awareness of space and a stylist’s impulse to bring it to life before foraying into the realm of product design. Currently based in Tribeca, New York City, he finds himself in a balance between being on set, styling and designing from his studio.
Colin has styled for major publications such as Architectural Digest and T Magazine and hosts a myriad clientele within the genres of product and interior design. He is continuously inspired by life’s everyday rituals, gestures and imperfections – made beautiful by their ever-evolving presence within a given space. Colin King is the designer behind Interconnect, MENU’s monumental candleholder design.

The lounge chair is constructed with a structural frame made of plywood. Seat consists of layered foam ( layers) in different hardness with webbing/ belts underneath. Back and armrests consists of a double foam layer, with front part being reinforced with foam flex. The base is made from painted MDF.
