Purity of design and functionality are in the design DNA of this family of dining and accent tables. Sophisticated details, like the leg that inserts into the table top, conceal the complexities of construction under the guise of simplicity.
Exquisite combinations of materials are possible between the structure in solid Canaletto walnut and ash and the flush-set top in several kinds of marble: White Carrara, Black Marquina, Calacatta Gold and Emperador. Designed as the perfect complements to the seating options in the collection, the Gustav side tables have bold personality and a flair for standing alone or in groups, where the interplay of overlapping planes is even more evident.
DESIGNER
CARLO COLOMBO
Born in 1967, Carlo Colombo graduated in 1993 with a degree in architecture from the Polytechnic University of Milan.
From that point forward, Colombo’s work in the design field has resulted in various projects that grew out of partnerships with leading furniture manufacturers.
In 2004, Colombo was named designer of the year and, in the years that followed, received prestigious awards. In addition to furniture and design products, Colombo also worked as a consultant and artistic director, providing companies with corporate strategy and marketing, producing graphic designs and curating exhibits.
Furniture companies were among the first clients for his home design projects but soon they also engaged him to design the display spaces for furniture exhibits, sales and production. Initially focused on interior design and planning, Colombo’s activity gradually expanded into the construction sector in Italy and abroad.
Today, the studio is engaged in large-scale projects from interior design to architectural projects around the world.
