GLACÉ Slide

GLACÉ SLIDE

Designed  By Alessandro Mendini

The famous designer Alessandro Mendini creates Glacè for Slide, a seat with an irregular and abstract shape that reminds of a star's tips. The unusual design makes the surface of the product faceted, creating magical light effects in its luminous version.

The big dimensions and the refined line make Glacè ideal for contract projects and events that want to be unforgettable.

DESIGNER

ALESSANDRO MENDINI

Alessandro Mendini was an Italian architect, designer, painter, journalist, critic and theorist of architecture and design, founder of theories and concepts concerning postmodern design, banal design and re-design.

A protagonist of many cultural events in Italy in the 1970s, he founded and joined movements and research groups such as Global Tools (in 1973) and Alchimia (in 1979).

Founder and editor of several design magazines (Modo 1977 - 1979 and Ollo from 1988), he also edited two important Italian architecture magazines (Casabella 1970 - 1976 and Domus 1979 -1985). In 1989, together with his brother Francesco, he founded Atelier Mendini in Milan:

a studio that designs objects, furniture, installations, interiors, paintings, architecture, collaborates with international companies and is a consultant for various industries in Europe and the Far East. His writings are as numerous as his awards and recognitions.

For the value of his work, architect Mendini has been appointed Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres in France, received the Compasso d'oro alla Carriera, the Architectural League (New York, 1983), The European Prize for Architecture in 2014 and, among others, the Laurea Honoris Causa at the Milan Polytechnic.

An intellectual. An artist-pioneer who has been able to carry a disruptive message of innovation and irony over the years, both in the industrial world and in craft and self-production: in a word, a Maestro of Italian design.

MAINTENANCE & CLEANING

- To prevent dust and dirt from sticking to the plastic surfaces, periodically clean the products with a damp
cloth and neutral liquid soap diluted in water.
- Avoid using ethanol or any liquids containing, even in small amounts, acetone, trichloroethylene or
ammonia (solvents in general).
- It is recommended the use of SLIDE’s “CleanUp” cleaner or a degreaser. Spray the cleaning product on the
surface, rub with a damp cloth and rinse abundantly with water (preferably with a high pressure washer).
- In case of persistent stains use a high pressure washer or scrub eraser.
- The use of the scrub eraser (melamine foam - Scotch-Brite® Easy Eraser or similar) is only recommended
for white colour, as they are slightly abrasive.
- The lacquered version is also suitable for outdoor use, however it is more sensitive to scratches:
periodically clean with a polish cleaner, gently rubbing with soft cloth/cotton wool.
- Cushions can be cleaned with a damp cloth, neutral liquid soap and water.
- For metal parts use specific cleaners.
