THE WARMTH OF WOOD
The mantle is a tall cone in which the metal supporting structure is functional to the fire, a single solution for allocating the firewood inside the fireplace and at the same time conveying and expelling the combustion fumes upwards. Fumotto is made in two types of metal, in matt black painted steel or in Cor-Ten, a special steel material with great mechanical resistance and specificity against corrosion. The fireplace does not require any special precautions, it can be placed and leveled on the ground and function only with the aid of wood.
CONCEPT
Constructively thought of as a cloak, a hood, which contains and envelops the fire, conveying the fumes up into its collar, Fumotto was born by shaping a single and robust sheet of sheet iron that transforms into a fireplace. A stainless steel belt-handle becomes the grip that allows you to rotate the chimney on a concrete grit base to choose the orientation based on its use or to have the best wind conditions. A pin fastens the overlapping flaps of the mantle, and regulates the fire through the bakelite knob which moves the valve for the draft of the fumes.
