Cappellini Aliante Bookshelf
ALIANTE BOOKSHELF
ALIANTE BOOKSHELF
The Aliante bookshelf by Giulio Cappellini and Rodolfo Dordoni comes in an array of wall-hanging configurations and consists of a metal structure paired with wooden shelves.

The support structure is composed of two polished metal combs; the shelves come with a polished chrome matte varnished finish, in white, black and mud.
The shelves are available with a matte or glossy finish, in the colours of the collection, or in natural or wengé-stained oak.
The visual impact can also be personalised: in fact, the shelves of the Aliante bookshelves can come in multiple colours.
The shelves are attached to the structure with socket-head screws, whereas the bookshelf attaches to the wall with an expansion hook.
DESIGNERS
RODOLFO DORDONI AND GIULIO CAPPELLINI
Rodolfo Dordoni is a part of the prolific Milanese creative wave that fostered Masters such as Castiglioni, Zanuso, Magistretti and de Lucchi. After earning his degree in architecture from the Polytechnic University of Milan, he developed a multidisciplinary and holistic approach to industrial design; according to Dordoni, a designer’s attention must be focused on the design itself, but also (more importantly) on the strategies for the product’s image and marketing possibilities.
For years he has worked as a designer and consultant for the top level industrial design companies Atemide and Moroso; for Panasonic and Dolce & Gabbana he has been responsible for the interior design of the shops, showrooms and events.
Dordoni dedicates himself to successful projects such as the collection of sofas and sofa beds Cuba 25 and the Aliante bookshelf, made in collaboration with Giulio Cappellini. Trained as an architect in Milan, Giulio Cappellini is an emblematic figure in the international design panorama.
Animated by an indomitable spirit and the curiosity of someone who wants to renew himself continuously, Cappellini dedicates himself to design by offering his personal revision of contemporary design, both for the brand that bears his name, and as art director for other important brands in the field.
Through his most ambitious project, his company, Cappellini has become a bona fide trendsetter, such that he has become universally recognized as a talent scout for young professionals.
Numerous names have been launched through collaborations with his brand: Jasper Morrison, Marc Newson, Marcel Wanders, the Bouroullec and Nendo brothers, just to name a few. His lectures at international design schools are also very popular, at institutions such as Istituto Marangoni, for which he is also Art Director, and other establishments around the world where he is invited as a visiting professor. Cappellini’s work covers a vast array of furnishing elements. Among the most loved are the iconic Bong and Gong tables, the Break table series and the cabinet units in the Luxor range.
