JULI PLASTIC ARMCHAIR
JULI PLASTIC ARMCHAIR
Designed by Werner Aisslinger
Juli Plastic armchair by Werner Aisslinger continues to emerge as the protagonist of successful new creative experiments.
Extremely comfortable – thanks to the curved shell that is more enveloping than ever – this object of design welcomes 2020 with two fashionable new colors – mud and green – adding to the already rich color palette that includes pure white, graphite black, bright blue and blood orange.
Mud, with its warm hint of grey, is destined to become a new classic among neutral hues and, for the Juli Plastic armchair, it is available for both the plastic shell and the metal bases. The bases offer vast opportunities for customization: from a swivel base to wooden legs, or the stylistic elegance of the metal sled base.
In 2020, the Juli Plastic armchair also features another innovation – it is now available with a functional removable seat cushion equipped with a non-slip base. Upon request, the shell can be made in a bespoke color.
DESIGNER
He has won the “Compasso d’Oro” award numerous times, as well as other important European awards, and is the author of iconic pieces that are in the permanent collections of the MoMa, Vitra Design Museum and the Metropolitan in New York.
He is convinced that design must fundamentally be a means for exploring materials and technologies, and concentrates on the experimental use of new material elements such as fibreglass, gel, aluminium foam, neoprene and 3-D fabrics.
The fruits of his research are represented in the Juli swivelling armchair series, designed by Aisslinger for Cappellini in numerous versions: Juli Comfort, Juli Plastic and Juli Soft, and by the Hobo Contract sofa. To this day, he continues to ongoing collaborations with Zanotta, Porro and Magisprogetta.
