Its generous shell shape and matching ottoman transform sitting into an experience.Lounge chair Fabian was envisioned as “a chair from which you’ll never want to get up once you sit down.

” Relying on the technical capabilities and craftsmanship at Montis, comfort was at the top of designer Oliver Schick’s wish list. At the same time, he designed a piece “that can make a statement in any space.

UPHOLSTERY

The Fabian is available in fabric and leather. It is possible to choose the easychair in a uni fabric or leather. There is also the possibility to choose a seperate fabric/leather upholstery for the seat- and backcushion and another upholstery for the shell and base.

BASEPLATE

The baseplate is made from plywood painted in anthracite „Flock“. Underneath the plate 5 „Wagner Quick Click“ endcaps are mounted. They are fitted with a Duo glide (felt) & stop (slipresistant elastomer) system.

BACK

A base of HR foam with a specific weight of 38kg/m³. On top a seatcover filled with loose synthetic material (of down). The back- and seatcushion are zipped together. Both are also zipped into the shell

SEAT

A base of HR foam with a specific weight of 55kg/m³. On top a seatcover filled with loose synthetic material (of down).

BASE

-Frame Rotation moulded PE base. The Polyethleen which is used is 100% recycled. Internally a metall frame is bolted to take the full weight of the easy chair. The FABIAN easychair is available in: -Fixed position • -A turning mechanism (360 degrees) and -A return-mechanism (180 degrees).

FOAM

Moulded HR-foam with a specific weight of +/- 60kg/m3. The shell is covered with 100 grams dacron.

FRAME

Metall frame made of o.A. 16mm tube, 25x3mm strips and 15x15mm square tube.

Oliver Schick (1969, Darmstadt) studied product design in Saarbrücken.He worked as a freelance designer and started his own design studio in 2005. “I shift between free work with an investigative character and functional assignments. The end result is different every time. Although I make sure to never lose sight of narrative character and visual impact, even in my commissioned work.
