MATERIALS AND COLOURS
MATERIALS AND COLOURS
BABEL D offers carefully selected materials and finishes to meet outdoor requirements. Our steel and aluminium alloy furniture is polyester powder coated in a carefully composed colour palette. Tabletops can be in steel or HPL (High Pressure Laminate), PaperStone®, an ecological material derived from paper, Iroko or Grès, available in various colours.
FABRICS AND ROPE (CAT. A)
- 100% acrylic fabric refined and pleasant to the touch while having a certain firmness. It has a natural appearance and can be used indoors and outdoors.
- Protected by a water-repellent finish with an anti-mould, stain-resistant, sun-resistant treatment and high colour fastness.
HPL
High Pressure Laminate (HPL) consists of layers of paper impregnated with thermosetting resins and compacted with decorative paper and a protective coating. It is a self-supporting durable material suitable for outdoor use as it is resistant to weathering. Available in three different colours and textures (chalk white, rust or concrete effect).
PAPERSTONE®
- As an environmentally friendly product, it may be subject to colour variations.
- Using natural pigments instead of chemical dyes ensures greater UV resistance, stable colours and consistent colouring.
- An environmentally friendly material, made from 100% recycled and FSC® certified paper and cardboard with vegetal resin, mainly from pressed cashew nutshells. It is a solid and resistant innovative material.
MAINTENANCE
PaperStone® tabletops can be cleaned with a cloth dampened with warm water and mild soap. The surface has good resistance to stains. However, we recommend that you keep the PaperStone® tabletop dry to avoid limescale deposits. Do not use bleach-based liquid detergents. Avoid using harsh chemicals. Do not use abrasive sponges or metal scrapers.
IROKO
Iroko wood has many properties: in particular, it is resistant to mechanical stress and weathering such as changes in temperature, humidity and UV rays. It is easy to cut despite its hardness. Iroko is characterised by its golden yellow to yellow-brown colour, which tends to darken after seasoning to a warm shade. Iroko is considered a ‘fat wood‘ because it is resistant to water and humidity. It is perfect for furnishing gardens, terraces and porches and has an extremely long life and use.
MAINTENANCE
-For daily cleaning you can use a soft cloth dampened with water and a mild liquid soap. Over time, natural iroko will take on a grey colour due to exposure to sunlight and weathering. Iroko protects itself thanks to its natural oils, which make it waterproof. -Every 4 to 6 months you can clean the product with a neutral detergent, sand it gently with fine-grit sandpaper and then apply a coat of water-based impregnation and wax with a brush.
FABRICS AND ROPE (CAT. B)
- 100% PAC Dralon fabric. It is incredibly soft to the touch and has a pleasant appearance. It can be used outdoors because it is water repellent.
- It has high functional qualities. It is protected against UV rays and is durable and resistant to wear. It is stain-resistant, avoids absorption and makes daily cleaning easier.
