This litterbin is designed with an open lid for easy access, yet it keeps waste out of sight.
Hinken 40 is fitted with a base pedestal, which makes an attractive complement to the other Hinken products such as the large-size Hinken litterbin and the Hinken planter. Hinken 40 is modern, sleek and available in different colours.
DESIGNER
THOMAS BERNSTRAND
Designer Thomas Bernstrand, who owns his own design studio in Stockholm, has participated in a large number of design and art exhibitions around the world such as MoMA in New York, Colette in Paris, Biennale Design Saint-Etienne and others.
Bernstrand has received several awards for his work, including Excellent Swedish Form and Winner of the Good Design Award 2012 for Nolastolen Share. For Nola, Bernstrand has designed a large number of products and furniture series and participated in a number of special projects over the years

ASSEMBLY AND PLACEMENT
- Freestanding : Freestanding product that is placed directly on the ground.
- In-ground : Cast in ground.
- Surface mount : Can be bolted above ground, to the floor or to a cast-in-place foundation. Bolts not included.
- Some assembly required. The lid attaches to the bin and the bin attaches to the pedestal base with the screws provided.

MATERIALS AND SURFACE TREATMENTS
The litterbin is made from reinforced fibreglass plastic, with the frame and lid made in steel.
STEEL
Nola uses high-quality steel with good strength in our products. Steel rusts if left untreated and must therefore be surface treated. This is done through electro-galvanization and powder coating, hot-dip galvanizing, or application of a zinc powder primer.
PLASTIC : FIBERGLASS
Glass fiber is often used as reinforcement in plastics to increase rigidity by coating a glass fiber fabric with a plastic, usually a polyester, which hardens and binds the glass fiber together.
ELECTROGALVANIZED
Electrogalvanizing (also known as zinc plating) provides corrosion protection through the sacrifice of zinc ions. It is created via a zinc coating on the steel using an electric current.
POWDER COATING
Powder coating is a coating that is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder. Unlike conventional liquid paint, powder coating is usually applied electrostatically and then cured under heat or with ultraviolet light. The result is an even, hard-wearing coloured surface with the desired gloss level.
