Australian-designer duo Daniel-Emma created Cherry, a simple and minimalist suspension lamp comprised of an aluminum cone mounted atop a sphere.
The soft light produced by the diffuser reflects off the mirror-finish steel.
The Cherry suspension lamps refer to our childhood souls: the rubbers we would collect and, more obviously, the ice cream cone with the cherry on top that we loved so much.
Five years later, the Cherry pendant lamp evolves by integrating a LED lighting system. The whole Cherry collection is made in France.
DESIGNERS
DANIEL & EMMA
They (daniel to and emma aiston) established the design studio daniel • emma in 2008, to enable them to express their thoughts through industrial design.
Their studio works on a large variety of projects, ranging from desk objects to installations. They met whilst studying industrial design in adelaide, australia.
After both graduating in 2007, they spent almost two years gaining experience with various design studios in london, such as marc newson, thorsten van elten and committee.
They first showed in london in 2008 and their work has since been shown in paris, tokyo, new york, berlin and throughout australia. In 2009 wallpaper* magazine listed them as design graduates to watch and in 2010 they were awarded the most promising talent at 100% design london as well as the bombay sapphire australian design discovery award.
Recently their clients have included hay (denmark), wallpaper* (uk), field (usa), thorsten van elten (uk), attica restaurant (aus) and tait (aus) and today in petite friture.

The Cherry suspension light, a childhood memory which is embedded in time
This design pendant light is long-lasting as it is more sustainable. Raw materials are French-made. It is a short-supply-chain collection that values local know-how. Equipped with an LED system, its light output is much higher than other types of lighting, halogen or compact fluorescent, and it consumes less energy than other technologies. This design and fun collection is enriched with 3 models of lightings for new creative playgrounds to create a design interior: a mini pendant light, a 3 or 5 pendant-lamp-system and a chandelier.
