MOON PENDANT AND CEILING LAMPS

MOON is a collection of pendant and ceiling lamps with the shape of a waning moon, intended to be placed either individually or in sets.
When we are in a space illuminated by MOON we have the feeling of being under the influence of the moon. When it is installed in groups, we have the same sensation, but multiplied.
Each MOON has a notch that allows another MOON to be installed stuck to it, allowing to play with the rotation of a MOON over the other, forming chains or threads. MOON is a great choice for ceiling or wall lighting, on a small or large scale, in homes, hotels, facilities and work centers.
The MOON collection consists of 2 models: one ceiling lamp -which can be installed both on the ceiling and on the wall- and one pendant. Its screen has a unique diameter of 70cm and is made of rotomolded polyethylene. The structure in both cases is white painted iron.
DESIGNERS
JOSEPH NOVELL
(Hospitalet de Llobregat, Barcelona, 1953)
He studied Product Design at ELISAVA (Barcelona University School of Design and Engineering), and later graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Southampton (United Kingdom).
Since 1980 he has been dedicated to design, both from his own studio and in collaboration with other designers. In 1984 he founded the company “Via Design”, SA together with Joan Suñol, a project that ended in 1988.Later he created “Novell / Puig Design” together with the designer Josep Puig.
Furthermore, since 1984 he has taught classes as a project teacher at the ELISAVA Higher School of Design. He is a member of the Industrial Design Association of the Foment de les Arts i del Disseny (ADI-FAD).
For ALMA LIGHT, together with the designers Josep Puig and Ernest Perera, he has developed classic luminaires of the brand, such as the BLOW , CUADRAT , FLAT , MOON & SUPERMOON , PAROS ALABASTER , SQUARE , STONE, SUN and TINY collections .
Josep Novell is particularly interested in closely relating three concepts: form, material and manufacturing process. He also takes into account more intangible aspects of the product such as communication, emotion or ethics. His designs are present in areas as different as lighting, packaging, product design, furniture or corporate image. Josep Novell is one of the great designers of our country, and many of his creations have been awarded and exhibited at design fairs and competitions in Europe, the United States and Asia.
ERNEST PERERA
(Vilanova i la Geltrú, Barcelona, 1974)
Ernest Perera combines his sculpture studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Barcelona with those of Industrial Design at the ELISAVA School (University School of Design and Engineering) in the same city.
He founded his own studio in 1999, where he designs products and experiences to help companies become more competitive, from one-of-a-kind pieces to highly serialized items. His work is characterized by providing renewed concepts in each project, providing specific solutions for each case.
In 2006 he created “Amor de Madre”, his own publishing company of home products, which allows him to imprint his freedom of creation and experimentation on various products in the home environment. Since 1998 he has been a teacher at several design universities in Barcelona. He is currently the Head of Product Design Area at the LCI Barcelona school.
He has collaborated with companies such as Camper, Lékué, Delica, Mago Urban, Alma Light - where he develops the BLOW, FLAT, MOON, ORB, PILL and SQUARE collections together with Josep Novell -, Picasso Museum of Barcelona, Rumitag, Artesanía de Catalunya or the ADI-FAD.
He has received various awards, such as selection for the ADI-FAD DELTA Design Awards, Barcelona (2009) and first prize at the international competition Les Découvertes, Maison Objet, Paris (2008).His creations have been exhibited in galleries around the world and have been selected for various international design publications.

The original fixing of the screen by the use of magnets makes it a system without errors and of easy manipulation. Each MOON bears a powerful 40W Epistar LED plate that has a considerable light flux of 3250 lumens, in a very nice tone of 3000K. Not dimmable.
