SE 68 MULTI PURPOSE CHAIR
SE 68 MULTI PURPOSE CHAIR
Designed By Egon Eiermann, 1951
Instantly recognisable in its distinctive silhouette, Egon Eiermann’s SE 68 Multipurpose Chair continues to quietly claim its status as a Mid-century icon.
A tubular steel frame complements an organically shaped seat and backrest made of moulded wood—SE 68 was the first chair model in Germany to combine these materials.
To give furniture a ‘human dimension’ was Eiermann’s goal, and as all those who have experienced the chair’s ergonomic comfort can attest to, no-one fulfilled this aim as elegantly as the prescient architect himself. SE 68 can be customised with upholstery and armrests on request.
