Odette, by DRAW Studio, is a console designed to be fixed to the wall, built completely in solid American walnut, and characterized by light and slender shapes.

Available in different sizes, it matches its alter ego Odile, a series of generously sized tables, echoing the fluid language and logic of construction.

Rhythm defines these pieces: as in a classical ballet, it seems that they can hover in the air, rising on tiptoe as if they were dancers with light and harmonious movements.

Luca e Mattia si laureano nel 2005 in Industrial Design al Politecnico di Milano, ma si incontrano solo nel 2008.

At that time they were working in Milan in the same project team, and had the opportunity to exchange opinions and ideas regarding product design, immediately perceiving a strong synergy and gradually establishing a deep friendship that went beyond their professional activity.

DRAW is a Studio founded by Luca Martorano and Mattia Albicini based in Tuscany and South Tyrol. But it is also a concept, a brand defined around their vision of design. Their values aim at production quality, functionality, expressiveness and a composed, measured elegance.

From the very beginning their functional vision of design aimed at balancing technique and style, tradition and innovation, equally led them to coordinate projects in a wide range of fields, searching in their own country and abroad for production excellence that combine construction skills, dedication to tradition, willingness to experiment, and quality in the communication of their values.

They work constantly alongside the production, they like to observe how a material is transformed into an object, they care about how this is done and by whom it is done, trying to grasp the secrets and appreciating the imperfection of their manual work. They prefer authentic materials and pure volumes, paying extreme attention to details and leaving them the role of protagonists.

Moved by a passion for Italian authors of the second half of the 20th century, in their work, they show citations of the classics of the past, and love the pieces that reveal traces of that memory.

DRAW is a container of projects and production experiences that are very different from each other. Despite the great differences, each work is united by the depth of research, the utmost care for the final result, the attention to the relationship between the people involved, and undoubtedly, from the first sketches to the final result, they are all fueled by a passion for drawing.

TECHNICAL FEATURES

Console, wall anchorage, made in solid American walnut, wooden, glass or marble top.

EACH ELEMENT OF ODETTE HAS BEEN DESIGNED

Each element of Odette has been designed pursuing this idea of visual lightness that is also and above all a technical achievement: the elliptical sections of solid walnut wood reduced to a minimum, the tapered legs with delicate transitions, the tapered and thinned crosspieces. The top is available in glass (transparent, smoky or bronzed) or in marble, placed flush with the wooden frame. For this second version, a specific processing system was developed which makes it possible to obtain sheets of only 8mm thickness, compared to the 20mm found in other products.

The key is conceiving and then producing a shape that is visually light but which at the same time ensures a structurally robust construction that is stable in use and durable over time. In Odette, according to the designers of DRAW Studio, "two opposing souls coexist: on one hand the contemporary cleanness of the lines, on the other the tradition of memory, the wood worked in the Italian way, and the sinuous transitions that are a nod to the masters of the past. We love to try our hand at pieces that contain this dialectic: the obsession with time and the idea of being able to stop it in a gesture, in a form, in an object. It is like a great opera or a great dance choreography, which in its repetition over the years takes on a timeless dimension".
