DESIGNER
RODOLFO DORDONI
The strategic collaboration between Minotti and Rodolfo Dordoni, architect and designer from Milan, began back in 1997 and ended in 2023, with his untimely passing.
Rationalist architect and professional with a multi-faceted personality, Rodolfo Dordoni met Renato and Roberto Minotti towards the end of the nineties.
The Minotti brothers immediately considered Rodolfo Dordoni’s cultural background, professional experience and sensitivity as an interior decorator the ideal basis for forging a strong relationship. The challenge that faced them was to create a new vision of the company.
So, in 1997, Rodolfo Dordoni presented his first collection of seats, tables and coffee tables, including Suitcase, the iconic cubic armchair freely inspired by the world of fashion and luggage-making.
A successful design, it was anti-conventional and rigorous, marking the beginning of a consolidated relationship that went on to span more than twenty years.
The next year, in 1998, he was nominated Art Director and coordinator of all the company’s collections. This marked a turning point that launched him on a pathway of continuous research, guided by the values of coherence, determination, passion and enthusiasm.
Over the years, it led to the definition of a full range for the home, designed for both indoor and outdoor environments and for Hospitality spaces, fully interpreting the concept of “collection” and “lifestyle”.
Year after year, collection after collection, this collaboration has played a part in reinforcing the brand identity and in giving the collections a feel of exclusivity, carrying a strong message of quality and fine Italian craftsmanship all round the world, by innovating and creating continuity.
The collaboration also extended to designing the stands for the various editions of the Salone del Mobile in Milan and Shanghai and the fair in Cologne, as well as the creation of spaces such as the Minotti New York flagship store, opened in 2010, and the company showroom installed in the headquarters in Meda in 2012.
The architect’s many iconic indoor and outdoor furniture designs created since he began working with the company over 20 years ago were recently joined by some new additions - the Dylan, Goodman and Twiggy seating systems - all characterised by pure volumes, sharp geometries and a haute couture approach to sartorial craftsmanship - along with a myriad of furnishing solutions, small furniture and accessories.

DETAIL
The Halley “Outdoor” collection also includes a daybed that is as elegant as it is comfortable. The structure is covered in cord in the following colors: Sand, Elephant Grey, Charcoal, Sunflower, Khaki Green and Rust. The cushions have internal padding in high resilience expanded polyurethane foam and are covered in water resistant fiber and fabric. Thanks to a mechanism designed and engineered by Minotti Studio, the Halley “Outdoor” daybed can be adjusted to four different reclining positions.
STRUCTURE
Stainless steel frame, subjected to two phases of preparation: zinc primer application for exterior use (facilitates and improves adhesion of the finish paint) and polyester powder coat for exterior use, in the colours Clay, Sunflower, Rust, Khaki Green and Pewter. The structure is covered in a Ø 8 mm Taslan (air texturization process) braided polypropylene fibre in the following colours Sand, Sunflower, Rust, Khaki Green, Elephant Grey and Charcoal.
The varnished finish on the stainless steel structure is Pewter colour when the fibre covering is in Elephant Grey or Charcoal; in Clay when the fibre is Sand; and is the same colour as the fibre for the following colours: Sunflower, Rust and Khaki Green.
PADDING
The cushions have internal padding in high resilience expanded polyurethane foam and are covered in water resistant fiber and fabric. The completely removable upholstery covers come in a vast array of outdoor fabrics that look sensational when combined with the cord structures.
STRUCTURED COVERED
The stainless steel structure is completely covered in special polypropylene fiber that is similar to traditional woven wicker and comes in an array of sophisticated colors: Sand, Elephant Grey, Charcoal, Sunflower, Khaki Green and Rust. The epoxy-painted finish on the stainless steel structure is color-coordinated to match the cord. It is in Pewter color when the cord covering is in Elephant Grey or Charcoal, and is in the same shade as the cord for the other colors: Clay, Sunflower, Khaki Green and Rust.
