With the PELLE CORD chair, a piece of traditional craftsmanship returns to the present day.

The seat, woven by hand from paper cord, is not only visible craftsmanship, but also an expression of sustainable design: The paper cord is made of 100 % paper, sealed with a waxed surface.

Nordic temperament meets Mediterranean culture

The Milanese design Studio Lorenz+Kaz was founded in 2001 by Catharina Lorenz and Steffen Kaz, both German designers living and working in Italy since the mid Nineties.

What characterizes their creativity is their sustained quest for perfection and a hybrid “Nordic Italian” imprint of their designs; aware of its origins and always willing to transform and evolve into something new and innovative.

The international multidisciplinary team is working in the fields of furniture design, industrial design, exhibition and interior design, brand installations and graphic design with a special focus on art direction.

The studio Lorenz+Kaz works for many renowned international companies worldwide. Their work received several international awards including the Red Dot Best of Best Design Award, Germany, Chicago Athenaeum Good Design Award USA, German De-sign Award Special Mention and furthermore their work is part of prestigious international exhibitions.

Steffen Kaz taught for many years at the Free Faculty of Art and Design in Bolzano, currently, he teaches at the Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan. Together they regularly give workshops at various international Universities.
