QUILLER BOOKCASE
The bookcase Quiller is made of extra clear bevelled glass and is composed of six shelves closed on the sides. It was designed by designer Uto Balmoral and is perfect to be placed against the wall or free standing in living areas or work spaces.
This bookcase is synonymous with lightness and linearity, thanks to the straight shapes and the transparency of the glass, that creates light effects that give brightness to the environment and thus the illusions of greater breadth. It is meant for modern environments and is an excellent match for minimalistic furniture complements.
DESIGNER
UTO BALMORAL
Uto defines his image of virtual designer starting from its denial in a game of balance between will/need of appearing and hiding oneself.
In this case, the artist is an integral part of the project, becoming the physical metaphor of a path that goes beyond the functionality and aesthetics that characterize contemporary design.
The provocation comes from the attempt of making a reverse course where the designer becomes a personality not at the end of a course but from the beginning.
Uto begins with the show Maybe/Forse at the DAAL Galleria of Ventura during the Milan Design week, presenting his limited series collection of “Unstables” tables and the lamp family “The Putrella’s Connection”.
He designs for Tonelli Design, Officinanove, Luce 5 of which he is also art director, and works with artists and galleries of international fame.
