Tired Man also known as "Den trætte mand" was launched at the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers’ Guild Exhibition in 1936 and has since become an icon of Danish design.
The epitome of craftsmanship and comfort, the characteristically curved armchair was designed by Flemming Lassen to feel “as warm and snug as a polar bear cub in the arms of its mother.”
Relaunched in 2015, the award-winning design is offered in plush upholstery, including sheepskin in a nod to the original, and with natural or dark-oiled oak heartwood legs and front brass castors for easy movement.
A corresponding footstool ensures further comfort. The Tired Man Ottoman is upholstered in Oeko-Tex® certified sheepskin from Skandilock.

Designer
Credited for his role in bringing functionalism to Denmark, Flemming Lassen was an architect and designed noted for his exacting craftsmanship and naïve expression. Lassen drew much of his inspiration from the architect Mies van der Rohe and the tenets of the Bauhaus artistic movement —a less is more approach focused on form, function and novel materials counterbalanced with human needs. His original and distinctive designs with timeless silhouettes still resonate today.

Dark-stained oak with an oil finish enhances the colour, wood grain and finish of furniture, while allowing the inherent beauty of oak to shine through. The darker tones achieved through the staining process give a warm and inviting look while the oil finish protects against dust and damage.
NATURAL OAK
An oil finish enhances the characteristics of solid oak, bringing out the depth and warmth of the wood while helping to repel moisture and dust to contribute to the longevity of the furniture. A reapplication of oil can often remove minor imperfections to rejuvenate the appearance.
ALL COLORS
With its inviting, curly texture, this durable and wonderfully soft sheepskin displays variations in its structure, density and thickness to result in unique wool upholstery characterised by distinctive colours. The Moonlight sheepskin from Skandilock is Oeko-Tex® certified.
